Days before the official launch of the election campaign, PAM in Marrakech sent a signal of stability, unity and continuity to voters in Morocco and abroad.

A mass rally to show party unity

On Wednesday, several thousand activists and supporters of the Authenticity and Modernity Party gathered in Marrakech. Their goal was to show a united party within the ruling majority and prepare the ground for the coming electoral battle.

In a hall firmly on its side, PAM’s leadership defended its record in government and claimed a distinct political line compared to its coalition partners. Their speeches revolved around three priorities: purchasing power, jobs and youth.

PAM in Marrakech insists on long-term presence

Fatima-Zahra El Mansouri, coordinator of the party’s collegial leadership and mayor of Marrakech, opened the event. She reminded the audience that PAM has been active for eighteen years.

She stressed the continuity of its grassroots engagement, in contrast with parties accused of resurfacing only before elections. In her view, the party’s longevity shows its organisational strength and political roots.

El Mansouri recalled that PAM was created in the wake of the high abstention recorded in the 2007 legislative elections. Mobilising young people, she said, remains central to the party’s political project.

“The Authenticity and Modernity Party is not seeking positions for their own sake. We carry a comprehensive project for Morocco,” she stated.

Government record highlighted measure by measure

A large part of the speeches focused on what PAM ministers have done in government. El Mansouri described their record as “honourable”, insisting there were no conflicts of interest.

Among the measures highlighted were:

  • the Pass Jeunes, designed to ease young people’s access to certain services and activities;
  • direct housing support, which also concerns families planning to return or invest in a home in Morocco;
  • judicial reforms led by Justice Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi.

On justice, she underlined the intention not to “break a young person’s future” because of a first mistake, calling for a more balanced approach.

What is at stake for Moroccans living abroad

For Moroccans living abroad with plans to return, invest or travel frequently, these announcements matter. Policies on housing, purchasing power and youth employment directly affect families preparing a long-term move back to Morocco.

Those looking to buy or build property in their hometown will closely watch how direct housing aid evolves. Judicial reforms are also important for those managing property files, inheritance issues or investments from a distance.

The focus on youth concerns not only young people living in Morocco but also those who may return after their studies or an early career abroad.

A claimed but differentiated majority role

Alongside Fatima-Zahra El Mansouri, two other figures stood out in Marrakech: Mohamed Mehdi Bensaïd, a member of the collegial leadership, and Fouzi Lekjaa, who recently joined the party.

All three insisted on PAM’s intention to remain a key pillar of the governing majority, while maintaining its own distinct political signature. For voters in Morocco and within the Moroccan community abroad, the message is clear: the party wants to appear as a stable force, able to sustain its social and economic policies over time.

The coming days, with the official campaign launch, will show whether this show of strength in Marrakech can be converted into votes and into concrete projects that Moroccan families, wherever they live, are waiting for.
